Learning is experience. Everything else is just information.  ~ Albert Einstein

Youth empowerment is one of the most fundamental tools we have to provide our generation of young people so that we can all together create a better future for ourselves and for the world. With youth empowerment comes confidence and with confidence comes faith, boldness and encouragement to live ones dreams and be a better leader locally and globally.

One way of becoming a better leader is by gaining knowledge. Knowledge can be obtained by formal learning such as the traditional teacher-student system thought in school-environments. However, the most significant way of learning is by non-formal education, and this model of learning is one of the most important elements in why we wish to give youngsters the opportunity to participate in our projects. According to the European Commission non-formal learning is the “learning outside the formal school/vocational training/university system, taking place through planned activities (e.g. with goals and timelines) involving some form of instruction, for example courses organised by civil society organisations for their members, their target group or the general public.”  One can also say non-formal education is “learning by experience.” This way of learning is designed to give us challenges that will lead to experience and awareness, which is very important for us to grow and and develop as human beings.
